This site features many videos (mostly reenactments) on a variety of themes related to Westward Expansion: Gold, Indian removal, Louis & Clark, the buffalo, etc. It would be useful as an exploratory website for students - it's a resource-rich environment where students could research topics that interest them with regards to Westward Expansion. North American Indian Timeline 1492-1999
![Picture](/uploads/9/5/1/4/9514527/738243218.jpg?195)
A comprehensive chronology of North American Indian interactions with Europeans. Although the scope is a bit longer than specifically Westward Expansion, it provides a very detailed list of Indian skirmishes and full-on battles with American Settlers. Many of the events listed are not typically included in American history textbooks, and give a fuller view of the American Indian side of Westward Expansion. Click on title for link.
DBQ - Impact of Westward Expansion on Native Americans
![Picture](/uploads/9/5/1/4/9514527/962433010.jpg)
This DBQ (Document based Question) is ideal preparation for the AP US History test, as well as a good test of students' ability to analyze historical information. It will undoubtedly need to be preceded by lessons on how to read and interpret various historical sources. But it provides an excellent starting point for inferring information from a collection of sources on a topic question. I'd recommend it more for advanced students.
